Zoi Resta, member of the Interpretating Studies teaching staff at DFLTI, represented the Panhellenic Association of Professional Translators Graduates of the Ionian University (PEEMPIP) and received the 2017 FIT Prize for Interpreting Excellence in a special ceremony held in Brisbane, Australia as part of the 2017 FIT Congress. You can watch her message of thanks here. The award mentioned above reflects the particular contribution of Mrs. Resta in the field of interpreting. The international judging commission recognized that Dr Resta stood out by participating in educational programmes and activities aiming to raise awareness about interpreters, not only in conferences but also mainly for those dealing with community interpreting. This award recognises Zoi Resta's activities in research, teaching and evaluation and primarily highlights her occupation as an active professional interpreter, with the very first doctorate in interpreting in Greece, raising her a national pioneer. This kind of recognition proves the quality of interpreting studies in Greece and especially of the INTERPRETING SPECIALIZATION at DFLTI, that constantly produces proper professionals and pioneering academic work.
