The conference will be held in Corfu on Friday, Feb. 13th 2009, in the framework of the Hellenic Chairmanship of Adriatic-Ionian Initiative.

Participants will include, among others, representatives of the Foreign Ministries of eight member countries of AII.

Deputy Foreign Minister Mr. Miltiadis Varvitsiotis will take part in the conference’s proceedings, as well as the Albanian Minister of Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports, Professor Ylli Pango, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Ms. Ana Trisic-Babic, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Italy, Senator Mr. Alfredo Mantica, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Montenegro, Ambassador Mr. Milorad Scepanovic, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Serbia, Ambassador Mr. Stanimir Vukicevic, the Director of the Croatian Foreign Ministry’s Department for Neighbouring Countries and Southeast Europe, Ambassador Mr. Davor Vidis, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Athens, Mr. Vladimir Kolmanic.

The conference is aimed at an exchange of ideas on broader regional cooperation, coordination of social partners’ actions, and defining future objectives for the Adriatic and Ionian Initiative.

Ionian University teaching staff, as well as students, are invited to attend.
