Call for Special Track on "Infrastructures" The 13th European Conference on Digital Libraries, under the general theme "Digital Societies", plans to host a special track on e-Infrastructure used to implement content management and sharing environments. The term "e-infrastructure" is used to denote a reliable basic framework, enabled by a relevant collection of technologies, which facilitate management and exploitation of certain resources. In particular, content e-Infrastructures offers to third-parties support for the curation, management, sharing, access and use of multi-type content (e.g., articles, multimedia information objects, scientific data) usually published by different organizations under specific policies. In order to achieve their purpose e-Infrastructures must be based on a set of reference principles, standard practices, protocols, and specifications. The aim of this special track, dedicated to high quality papers, is to present progress in research and development activities with respect to infrastructure and to disseminate experiences related to the exploitation of innovative content e-infrastructures. The ECDL 2009 program will be made of general sessions and of special track sessions (clearly recognized in the program). Special track sessions will be plenary (with no parallel events running on the same time). Papers selected for these sessions also will be automatically considered for "ECDL 2009 Best Paper".
