The editors reconstruct the relations of Dimitris Mitropoulos with the Athens Conservatory based on material from the Conservatory's archive. The "Chronicle" begins with Mitropoulos's period of study in the Conservatory, presents important new evidence regarding his Berlin years, his involvement in the musical life of Athens during Interwar years and culminates with Mitropoulos's  departure from Greece and his death in 1960. The second part of the book presents the archival evidence. The Appendixes feature the programmes performed by Mitropoulos and the Athens Conservatory Orchestra from 1927 to 1939.
